DOMiDLabs in Berlin

Kultur im Kanzleramt

At the invitation of the Minister of State for Culture and the Media of Germany, Claudia Roth, DOMiDLabs project manager Sandra Vacca attended the "Kultur im Kanzleramt" event in Berlin on Tuesday, 5 March 2024, together with other cultural professionals.

It was the third time that Minister of State for Culture Roth had invited artists, intellectuals and representatives from culture, politics and the media to the "Kultur im Kanzleramt" series. The event focused on questions of participation and the power of art and culture to bring people from different backgrounds together and sensitize them to different viewpoints – especially the perspectives of people who are socially marginalised or discriminated.

The welcoming address by Wolfgang Schmidt, Head of Chancellery, was followed by a speech by writer, playwright, essayist and dramaturge Sasha Marianna Salzmann. On the podium for the ensuing panel were Katharina Warda (author, sociologist and literary scholar), Nuran David Çalış (theatre and film author and director), Raphael Gross (President of the German Historical Museum Foundation) and Fabian Gasmia (film producer). Vivian Perkovic moderated the panel. The evening was rounded off with closing remarks by Minister of State for Culture Claudia Roth.

The "Kultur im Kanzleramt" event in March 2024 was organised in cooperation with the Federal Agency for Civic Education (Bundeszentrale für politische Bildung/bpb).
